The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a
fatal accident that killed a man on a motorcycle on
Kenneth Shanklin, 61, of Marshallville,
was killed in the accident that happened at 8 p.m.
on Ohio 57 near Fulton Road.
According to the Highway Patrol, Shanklin was
southbound on Ohio 57 on his Harley Davidson and was
near the intersection of Fulton Road.
Another motorcyclist, Jeffrey Peters of
Marshallville, was also southbound in front of him
and slowed to make a turn onto Fulton Road.
A northbound SUV driven by Brian Kellogg of
Marshallville was at the same intersection and
slowed to turn west onto Fulton.
Shanklin was passing Peter's slower motorcycle on
the right as Kellogg was making his turn.
Shanklin struck the passenger side of the
Kellogg's SUV and was thrown from the bike.
Shanklin was not wearing a helmet and was
pronounced dead on the scene by Wayne County
Kellogg and Peters were not injured.
